User Community Group Discussion Sessions
Purpose of the Discussion Sessions
The purpose of the User Community group discussions is to learn the types of things that you need the application to do to complete a transaction. In particular, our goal is to answer the following questions:
- What do you need to know about a person to do a transaction?
- How do you get information about a transaction and where does it go when you are done?
- If you had a choice, how would you like to receive and send requested information along with a transaction?
- What do you need to determine the status of a transaction?
- What do you need to know about a transaction once it is completed?
Scope of the Discussion Sessions
The User Community discussion sessions will cover the following transaction types:
- New Hires
- Separations / Terminations
- Job Changes
- Leaves of Absence
- Position Creation / Maintenance
Process of the Discussion Sessions
The agenda of the discussions will include the following:
- Introduction of the design team members participating in the discussion session.
- A review of the goals of the discussion session and the scope of the transactions to be discussed.
- A discussion about how the front end application can make transactions easier and more efficient to process.
- A forum for you to express anything else that you think the design team needs to know when creating the specifications for the application.
- A written exit survey to provide the design team with feedback on the user discussion sessions.
Discussion Session Expectations
The design team wants the User Community group discussions to be as informal and informative as possible. We would appreciate candor from all participants. The feedback that we receive from the discussions is intended only for the use of the design team. We will not be attributing feedback to specific participants, but will compile the feedback and send a copy to the participants. The feedback will also be used to establish the high level functions of the application. Participants in the discussions will also have a chance to give additional input during the JAD sessions, breakout sessions, and in focus groups later in the design process.
